Introducing “On The Cusp”

My debut novel is coming out later in the year and I am, to be frank, a bit anxious about it.

There’s very little a first-time author can do to control how well their book does, because that’s just how publishing works, so I’ve been trying to do what I always do when I’m nervous about something—speak to other people who are going through the same thing.

Since that’s only taking the edge off, however, I thought I’d go back to something I used to do when I was a journalist: write articles on the topic until I feel better. Or, in this case, blog posts.

So, may I present “On The Cusp”, which will be a series of interviews with authors whose debut novels are coming up with a traditional publisher.

The format will be simple for consistency: each will be given a list of the same ten questions, of which they can pick the five they most want to answer, plus a bonus “what else did you want to talk about?” since I often found that lead to the most interesting material when I used to interview people.

If people like the series and I’m feeling it, I might switch to podcast format.

I hope everyone enjoys!
